The Bundesliga leaders take on the Gunners in the round of 16 first leg at the Emirates Stadium on 19 February.

But Guardiola wants his players to protect a 13-point cushion at the summit against lowly Freiburg first.

"We'll concentrate on the Champions League as of Sunday," said Guardiola. "We have to keep focus."

Freiburg boss Christian Streich on facing Bayern Munich

"We're not going to Munich thinking we're beaten before it starts. We'll go there trying to do well and prove ourselves worthy opponents. We'll run, fight and do everything we can tactically to ensure it isn't easy for Bayern."

Bayern are unbeaten in their last 45 German league games and Guardiola, a two-time Champions League winner when in charge of Barcelona, is keen to extend the run.

Freiburg are fourth from bottom of the table but managed to hold Bayern to a 1-1 draw when the teams met in August.

That has led Guardiola to urge caution ahead of the weekend as his team chase a Bundesliga, Champions League and German Cup treble.

"Freiburg are very aggressive," added the 43-year-old Spaniard.

"They played well when we met earlier in the season."

Croatia forward Mario Mandzukic, 27, serves a one-match ban while Guardiola could rest several players ahead of the game at Arsenal.

Bayern are definitely without France midfielder Franck Ribery and defender Holger Badstuber because of injury.
