PISZCZEK MAKES RETURN IN DORTMUND FRIENDLY
21:04
Unknown
Dortmund - Borussia Dortmund may have lost a hastily-arranged friendly against SC Paderborn 2-1 on Tuesday evening, but more importantly for the Westphalians, the game provided them with the chance to give Lukasz Piszczek a return to action after 178 days on the sidelines. The Pole was introduced in the 57th minute of the game, completing the match without any reaction to the hip and groin injuries which have kept him out of action since the UEFA Champions League final defeat to FC Bayern München last May.The 28-year-old appeared in a friendly which involved much of Dortmund's youth team, the lion's share of Jürgen Klopp's first-team squad currently away on international duty. Julian Schieber scored Dortmund's goal in the 2-1 defeat which represented a significant step on the road to recovery for the full-back, who has undergone surgery twice in the past six months.
